Department Summary:
The mission of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, housed in the College of Arts & Sciences, is to provide an educational experience in which students learn and develop quantitative skills that will facilitate learning long after they have left the classroom.
The faculty provide high-quality instruction and numerous opportunities for research collaborations. Upper level classes are small enough to allow close interaction between students and faculty members. Interested students may also find opportunities for independent studies on topics of interest or to work with faculty members on student research projects.
The Department provides six different programs: Mathematics, Computer Science, Mathematics for Secondary Education, and Quantitative Economics Data Analytics, the Computation and Mathematics Specialties. Each provides a balance of theory and current practices, and culminates in a capstone experience that allows students to deepen their study on an original and independent project.
Job Summary:
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science seeks an adjunct instructor with experience in software engineering to teach one section of CS 188: Software Engineering in the Spring of 2025, which will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00pm-6:15pm.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
Successful candidates should have industry experience as a software engineer and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching software engineering.
