Job Summary:

The Department of World Languages & Cultures invites applications for adjunct instructors of Spanish to teach various levels of Spanish and/or medical Spanish courses.

The successful candidate will:
• Be able to teach courses of all levels of Spanish, plan and instruct curriculum, and ensure that students acquire essential skill sets and objectives stated in departmental course syllabi
• Provide meaningful and assessment-based instruction so students may be observed and evaluated
• Monitor student progress and keep grade records
• Communicate effectively with students, using appropriate technology to provide academic support
• Comply with Drake, College, and Department policies and procedures
• Maintain a positive and professional learning environment for all students

This appointment will begin on August 26, 2024. Instruction will be delivered in person from at Drake's campus. (We may consider online instruction for a strong candidate.)

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree and language teaching experience required.
• Must have native or near-native proficiency.
• Preferred candidates will have experience in teaching Medical Spanish and interpretation courses.
