Job Summary:

Drake Law School is seeking an Administrative Assistant in the Office of Admission. This is a 32 hour/week, 10-month position (mid Aug - mid June), including full-time benefits. This role provides support to the Law School Office of Admission, and has primary responsibility for the processing of applications, tracking of application statuses, and report building.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites

Job Duties:

  • 40% - Process applicant data into the appropriate admissions/enrollment database for JD/LLM/MJ programs.
  • 10% - Track and record application statuses, communicate status updates to applicants and respond to related applicant questions and inquiries.
  • 10% - Prepare various annual and ad hoc reports including ABA AQ, LSAC correlation study and annual admissions office report.
  • 10% - Act as primary office liaison with LSAC for issues related to the applicant database (Unite), online applications, CAS reports and the online applicant status checker system (ASO).
  • 5% - Responsible for transferring digital application documents for all enrolled students to university database using WebXtender.
  • 5% - Revise and update online application templates, instructions and related documents for all law school programs.
  • 5% - Update admission office webpages and assist with keeping admission webpages updated.
  • 5% - Represent the university and the office of Admission in welcoming prospective students and families to the university and facilitate their visit day. Assist with making campus visit arrangements when needed.
  • 5% - Update Applicant Status Online system and work with applicants accessing that system.
  • 5% - Assist in answering incoming phone calls and email inquiries. Provide back-up in absence of full-time administrative assistant.
