Title: Administrative Assistant 2 – Multi Language Support (Part-time PRN)
Hours: 8-10 hours per week, based on need

Drake University Head Start and Early Head Start programs support the comprehensive development of children from birth to age 5, in classroom settings, home-based programming, and childcare partnership locations.
Job Summary:
This position provides detail-oriented and timely administrative support to the Drake Head Start Programs by scheduling and fulfilling language interpretation and document translation requests. The successful candidate will have experience working with interpretation and translation services, be fluent in English and at least one other language, and promote a broad understanding of Drake University Head Start's philosophy, initiatives, vision and its relationship to stakeholders and the community professionally.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• One year of office experience
• Highly proficient computer skills and experience working with Microsoft
• Bilingual
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or interpreter or translator certification
• Head Start experience.
• Current Driver's license and ability to be insured by University insurance
Job Duties:
- 80% - Arrange interpretation and translation services for Drake University Head Start families and staff. Process requests for interpretation and translation services and reconcile related invoices. - (Essential)
- 5% - Accurately translate or ensure translation of agency forms, newsletters, reports, and other documents as needed. Provide verbal and written interpretation and translation services in fluent languages. - (Essential)
- 5% - Assist in the development and dissemination of materials and resources to staff and parents relevant to dual language and cultural programming.
- 5% - Record Maintenance and Scheduling: Maintain strict confidentiality of all records and documents. Maintain department records, reports, and child files in a secure manner. Assist with scheduling family intake meetings. Other duties as assigned - (Essential)
- 5% - Follow Federal Head Start Program Performance Standards, state and local regulations, rules and requirements compliance. Maintain strict confidentiality of all records and documents. Maintain department records and reports in a secure manner. Represent Drake University and Drake University Head Start in a professional manner. Treat clients, co-workers, staff, parents and community members with respect and civility, and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for everyone at all times. React to change productively, maintain prompt and regular attendance, and perform all other duties as assigned. Promote Head Start philosophy and initiatives. - (Essential)
