Job Summary:

Drake University is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics Business Services to join its athletic department administration. This individual will report to the Associate Athletics Director of Finance and Operations. The Assistant Director of Athletics Business Services will be responsible for administering and coordinating business and fiscal affairs for Drake Athletics, including coordinating daily transactions, budget management for multiple units, and reconciling financial data.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or aspirations in collegiate athletics preferred
Knowledge of basic fiscal and budget principles and functions preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills

Job Duties:

All of the job duties described below require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the Pioneer Football League and/or the Summit League and Drake University.

  • 40% - Assist in administering and coordinating fiscal and administrative functions for Drake Athletics, including budget management for multiple units and reconciling financial data. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Provide daily transactional oversight for Drake Athletics, including all subdepartments and teams. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Oversee university purchasing cards for Drake Athletics, from advising new cardholders to reviewing and reconciling month-end transactions for all cardholders. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Prepare monthly financial reports for budget managers and athletic coaches. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Provide guidance to coaches and staff members on university, NCAA, and conference business policies and procedures. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Assist coaches and administrators in travel advance and travel reimbursement processes - (Essential)
  • 5% - Assist Associate Athletics Director of Finance and Operations with preparation and management of annual budget for Athletics - (Essential)
  • 5% - Organize and maintain all records and copies of financial data by fiscal year and provide documentation and reports for annual external financial audit. - (Essential)
  • Perform other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
