Job Summary:
Drake Athletics is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the opening of Assistant Director of Video Production. Reporting to the Director of Video Production, the Assistant Director will assist with day-to-day operations of Drake University Video Production, primarily in support of ESPN+ and In-Venue presentations. The Assistant Director will also setup shows, train and supervise student production crew, and assist with creation of in-venue and team video content. This position will work nights, weekends, and possibly holidays. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• One (1) year working within collegiate or professional athletics in a live production environment, including a demonstrated knowledge of video content creation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to the standards set forth by Drake University and the NCAA
• Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
• One (1) year of production experience that meets established ESPN+/MVC broadcast minimums.
• Knowledge of in-venue productions, including creation of videos such team intros and animations
• Previous experience of setting up, directing, and producing soccer, volleyball, and softball strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Ross Carbonite and XPression, VIZRT TriCaster and 3Play preferred
• Knowledge of Daktronics Display Studio and Venus Control Suite
• One (1) year of working in sports video production with a demonstrated knowledge of video lighting and composition, filming, non-linear editing, color grading, and audio mixing.
• One (1) year experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects required.
• Ability to work nights and weekends
Job Duties:
- 40% - Produce/Direct Drake Athletics on ESPN+ with supervision of student staff. Will also support events including, but not limited to – Drake Relays, Iowa High School State Track, Drake and High School Graduations. - (Essential)
- 30% - Managing in-venue production and/or videoboard production for designated events - (Essential)
- 15% - Oversight of student staff with responsibilities for hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating job performance - (Essential)
- 10% - Independently work to develop and create content to support in-venue production, broadcast, and department needs. - (Essential)
- 5% - Other duties as assigned - (Essential)
