Job Summary:
Drake Athletics is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Director of Facilities, Events, and Operations. Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director for Finance and Operations, the Director will be responsible for the scheduling and operations of all Drake University's athletics facilities. The position supervises two full-time staff members, interns, and student staff. The Director is a leadership position within the department and will attend monthly department head meetings led by the Athletics Director. The position will serve as a liaison with Des Moines Public Schools at Mediacom Stadium and community organizations hosting events in Drake Athletics facilities. The Director will have a significant role in the operation of the Drake Relays and Conference/NCAA Championships, along with outside events, which include examples such as the Iowa High School State Track Meet and the AAU Junior Olympics.
The Director of Facilities, Events, and Operations plays a crucial role in maintaining and managing Intercollegiate Athletics facilities, with a focus on safety, functionality, and aesthetics. Responsible for ensuring facilities are at or above Division I expectations. This position will work nights, weekends, and possibly holidays. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree – knowledge of specialized principles or techniques normally obtained through a four-year college/university academic program or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program directly related to the type of work being performed

5-7 years of experience
Job Duties:
- 30% - Schedule and coordinate all activities in athletics facilities. - (Essential)
- 30% - Oversee the management of events, which includes coordinating, training, and supervising outside contractors and the event staff. - (Essential)
- 20% - Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of two full-time staff members and student staff. - (Essential)
- 10% - Coordinate the setup and teardown of all events held in athletics facilities - (Essential)
- 5% - Monitor facility budgets. Execute contracts and billing - (Essential)
- 5% - Coordinate all maintenance, upkeep, and repair projects within athletics facilities. - (Essential)
