The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center at Drake University is thrilled to announce that we are hiring a Communications and Events Coordinator to join our team. Job Summary:

The Ray Center seeks a Communications and Events Coordinator to plan and execute a large variety of events, create communications content, schedule and monitor social media, update our websites, provide graphic design for collateral materials and merchandise, manage our contact database, and provide other assistance to our Communications and Events team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in communications or a related field is required
• At least two years of event coordination and at least two years of communications experience are required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference to candidates with experience in Adobe Suite and WordPress

Job Duties:

  • 50% - Lead, organize, and execute events, including CHARACTER COUNTS! Day with Drake Women’s Basketball, Exercising Your Character, and various Coach of the Year award presentations. Provide event assistance for The Ray Center’s signature events, including An All-Star Evening and Iowa Character Awards. Assistance includes tasks such as email marketing, web updates, guest RSVPS, and auction organization. - (Essential)
  • 45% - Help execute The Ray Center’s communications plan. Projects include maintaining social media calendar, creating and scheduling social media content, posting online resources, creating and updating marketing materials, managing contact lists, executing event marketing plans, and miscellaneous graphic design projects. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned - (Essential)

Salary and Benefits:

The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt (salaried) position.
