Job Summary:
The Drake University Department of Athletics is seeking a motivated and dependable student to serve as a Facilities and Game Operations Intern for the 2026–27 academic year. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in athletic facility management, event operations, and NCAA Division I athletics administration.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, preparation, and breakdown of athletic facilities for practices, competitions, and special events
- Support game and event operations for Drake Athletics home contests.
- Assist with facility scheduling and daily operations
- Help supervise and coordinate event staff during athletic events.
- Provide operational support for major events, including the Drake Relays and Iowa High School State Track & Field Championships
- Gain experience in facility management, event operations, and athletic administration within an NCAA Division I athletics department
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays throughout the academic year
- Ability to work Drake Athletics home events and major special events, including the Drake Relays and Iowa High School State Track & Field Championships
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Interest in sports management, athletic administration, facility operations, or event management preferred
- Knowledge of collegiate athletics and game operations is a plus
