Department Summary:
The Drake University Community School of Music (DUCSOM) and its faculty strive to awaken and nurture our students’ musical talent. DUCSOM’s students exemplify Drake University’s commitment to life-long learning. We teach students of all ages – from three year-olds to senior citizens – and of all levels – from beginners to professionals. Our students contribute to the vitality of the Greater Des Moines and the surrounding Central Iowa communities, as well as to the Drake University Community.

Job Summary:
DUCSOM seeks one or more candidates to fill part-time positions teaching non-credit voice lessons to students of all ages and levels. These are part-time positions. We are looking to start instructors in both June and August, 2024, likely less than 15 hours per week.
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in music, required.
• Prior experience giving voice lessons, preferred

For faculty positions, selection will depend on the receipt of recommendation confirming the candidate's scholarly achievements and teaching abilities and/or on the candidate's satisfactory passing of a teaching demonstration if selected for an on-campus interview. For staff positions, selection will depend upon careful review of each applicant’s references, education, and, if applicable, experience.
