Job Summary:
Under the direct or indirect supervision from the HVAC Manager or Supervisor, the Plumber will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs for plumbing system equipment including but not limited to: sinks, water fountains, bathroom fixtures, drains, traps, sump pumps, fire pumps, gas lines, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must be able to initiate and maintain good customer and co-worker relationships in a team environment
* City of Des Moines plumbing license
* Certification for Backflow Prevention Testing
* Knowledge of City of Des Moines plumbing code
* Experience with tools of the trade including drain-cleaning equipment
* Ability to perform piping joints of all types
Preferred Qualifications:
* Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by Drake.
* Master Plumbing license a plus
* Experience with automated work management systems managing work flow, assigning work, work completion monitoring, work performance analysis and time entry
Job Duties:
- 40% - Performs maintenance and service repairs for plumbing, gas and drainage systems.
- 20% - Maintain fixtures, flush valves, shower valves and heads, faucets and drinking fountains/bottle fill stations, water heaters and sump pumps.
- 10% - Complete/close out assigned work orders and projects in TDX maintenance management system.
- 5% - Annual testing and repairs of backflow devices and required paperwork.
- 5% - Respond to emergency calls for problems and troubleshoot plumbing issues.
- 5% - Winterization and seasonal start-ups of stadium facilities.
- 5% - Maintain adequate stock of parts and supplies and maintain an inventory list.
- 5% - Occasionally obtain comparable bids for larger purchases or repairs.
- 5% - Other duties as assigned, including working with fire sprinkler contractors, DMFD, etc.
