Department Summary:

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Performance, the sport performance coach will develop and implement comprehensive sport performance programs for assigned teams. Responsibilities include team coverage, program development and implementation of additional teams as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• SCCC or CSCS certification
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Human relations and interpersonal communications skills are necessary to effectively express all ideas and policies to athletes and personnel.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours that include nights, weekends, and holidays. Hours will vary based on training, practice, competition and recruiting schedules.
• Commitment to the standards set forth by Drake University and the NCAA

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous strength and conditioning experience with a variety of collegiate sport teams
- Former student-athlete or past athletic experience
Job Duties:
- 70% - Coach will develop and implement comprehensive sport performance programs for assigned teams. Explain and demonstrate training principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet in achieving proficiency in sport performance activities. Responsibilities include team coverage, program development and implementation of additional teams as required. - (Essential)
- 20% - Communicate with assigned sport team coaches regarding sport performance training goals - (Essential)
- 10% - Partner with the sports medicine staff in the rehabilitation, strengthening and support of injured. Collaborate with other departments as needed for student-athlete specific program needs. - (Essential)
- 0% - All duties described above require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference, and Drake University. - (Essential)
